ABOUT MARGARET GLEASON

It all began in my adorable little custom-built playhouse in the backyard that was constructed by my contractor dad. My parents had no idea how much it would be enjoyed! Every afternoon I would direct my neighborhood friends as we “rearranged” the playhouse - and believe me they were good friends!

My grandmother was and my mother is a lovely Southern lady. I was most definitely influenced by my grandmother who used her best silver and china every day rather than store it in the closet. I truly enjoy creating beautiful environments with this same joy and passion.

I attended Presbyterian College in South Carolina where I earned a bachelor of science degree in business administration. This creative-brained girl earned a business degree before attending The American InterContinental University in Atlanta, Georgia, where I received a bachelor of fine art degree in interior design.

I gained irreplaceable experience while living in Atlanta and working at the Atlanta Decorative Arts Center and also working for a residential and commercial designer. 

When my first niece, Virginia, was born, I just couldn’t stand not being around to be the favorite aunt and babysitter, so I moved back home to Mobile. I was blessed with my first client who is still a loyal client and dear friend. This first project was later featured in Florida Architecture magazine. Margaret Witherington Interiors began in 2001, eventually becoming the now Margaret Gleason Interiors when I married my high school sweetheart in 2004. My husband and I have been blessed with two adorable children, Olivia and Thomas.

I look forward to many more projects that continue to bring the same joy and passion that I experienced in the very beginning.
